Match reports 10/09/16
Warrington women's hockey teams found it tough going in their new divisions whilst both putting in performances they could be proud of. The first team took on Macclesfield away and took a surprise lead after a great through ball from Kate Connolly picked out the run of Sarah Gregson who finished coolly past the keeper. Warrington matched Macclesfield well throughout the first half which finished 1-1, but the hosts excelled in the second half and scored from several short corners. Tracy Jackson saved a penalty flick and Steph Rawlins deflected in a Connolly cross to keep the margin of defeat to 5-2. The second team also took the lead thanks to a goal from Molly Rudd. Despite superb defending in the first half, Warrington lost concentration in the second and conceded two goals.
