Match reports 09/02/19

Warrington men's second team put in a fantastic performance to win an exciting game 4-3 against Neston seventh team. Dan Sutton poached a goal at the far post to put Warrington 1-0 up but Neston responded immediately to go into half time level. Chris Ashworth was in top form, winning every tackle, while Rob Powell combined well with Adam Garrod as both of them found the back of the net. Keeper Tom Lloyd had to make several saves to ensure the win for Warrington. The men's firsts started their game strongly but Leyland's midfield slowly got into the game and started creating chances which they finished. Warrington were rewarded with a goal from Richard Cook from a short corner, but with as they tired Leyland began to take control and ran out 4-1 winners.

The women's first team started out strongly but with a few key people missing through injury and illness Timperley managed to break through the gaps and were quickly two goals ahead. Warrington came back with a break through midfield by Player of the Match Carrie Wright leading to Jo Nordovics' goal. The second half saw another goal for Warrington from an excellent short corner routine by Steph Rawlins and converted by Kate Connolly but the game ended 5-2. The women's seconds lost 4-0 against Timperley fourths despite many good saves from Player of the Match Tracy Jackson.
