Match reports 23/03/19

Warrington men's first team surprised newly crowned league champions Formby seconds with an outstanding performance that saw them secure a well-deserved point. Simon Mason and Scott Reed coped comfortably with everything Formby threw at them until Formby finally managed a breakthrough. Rob Powell terrorised the Formby left back and put in some great crosses before deflecting home the equaliser from a Noal Phillpotts pass. Richard Cook was unlucky not to score the winner when his powerful short corner drag-flick was bound for the top corner, only for the defender on the line to pull off a stunning save.

The men's seconds put in arguably their best performance of the season against Deeside Ramblers despite being a player short. Conceeding two goals against the run of play they kept their composure and played a tactical passing game to retain possession and reserve energy levels. Players' Player of the Season Chris Ashworth was put in a dominant display in defence. Gavin Brown chipped the keeper with one of the goals of the season before Player of the Match Adam Garrod pulled Warrington level. With one game to go, it's a close contest between Brown and Garrod for who will pick up the leading goal scorer award.
