Warrington put in a great performance in a thrilling end-to-end game against Mossley Hill in the Lancashire Shield final. After going behind early on against the run of play they fought back to 1-1 by half time when Scott McCue's pass found Nick Bottomley on the wing and Tom Lloyd slotted home from the cross. Bertie Houghton and Jordan Callum linked up well in midfield to set up some good chances for Warrington. They went behind again through a short corner and were grateful to Roger Parr for making several crucial saves to keep them in the game. They equalised through a stunning reverse strike from Ben Vickers after a smart through ball from Noal Phillpotts. With just two minutes left, Mossley scored a third goal and two Warrington short corners in the final seconds couldn't quite find the net as the game ended 3-2.
