Warrington men's first team were unlucky to lose their final league game of the season when second placed Liverpool University grabbed a late winner after an end-to-end game. Ben Vickers stunned the uni side by putting Warrington ahead with a great reverse hit finish after just 60 seconds. Noal Phillpotts defended solidly throughout, while Richard Cook turned defence into attack with some probing aerial balls, leading to two more goals from Vickers but it wasn't quite enought as Liverpool managed four. Warrington have the chance to win silverware when they face Mossley Hill in the final of the Knockout Shield at 11am at Wigan Sports Club on Saturday 6th April. The men's seconds ended their season with a 6-1 defeat to Runcorn. Iain Richards bamboozled the Runcorn defence after a great ball in from top scorer Adam Garrod to net Warrington's consolation goal.
