Warrington men's hockey teams defended strongly and both came out of their games with a point. The second team fought out a scrappy 0-0 draw with Prescott seconds. Right back Billy Gilbert was awarded Player of the Match for his great defending, including saving a goal-bound aerial shot on the line. The men's first team took the lead against Liverpool University second team thanks to a cool lob over the keeper by Iain Richards. Tim Rothwell and Andy Powell defended valiantly but they couldn't hang on for the win.
