Match reports 11/02/17

Ben Vickers was on fire as he netted an incredible five times in Warrington men's first team's 8-1 win over Lytham St Anne's seconds. Adam Garrod scored two more and captain Steve Worrall completed the scoring in a dominant display that moves them up to fourth in Division 4 North. They couldn't repeat their success in the Sunday match though as Didsbury ran out 3-1 winners in an end to end game. Tom Lloyd finished into the roof of the net from a great cross from Simon Mason.

Warrington women's seconds had a fantastic 9-0 win against Sale thirds on Saturday, putting them just one point outside the promotion places with a game in hand. Becky Miller was on fine form dribbling down the left wing and getting past Sale's defence to slot home a hat trick of goals early on in the first half. Molly Rudd grabbed the first goal of her hat trick to make it 4-0 by slotting home an incisive cross from Emma Frew on the right wing. Vicky Stout fired home from a strong short corner strike and then a dribbling through the defence. Hannah Johnson scored her first goal for the club before Molly Rudd finished things off with an amazing controlled mid height shot into the back of the goal.

The men's second team remain in a fight to avoid relegation after a 10-2 defeat to league leaders Liverpool John Moores University. Doug Samuels scored his first goal of the season and Nick Bottomley provided the best moment of the game with a superb reverse hit finish. The women's first team suffered a 6-0 defeat at the hands of an athletic and well organised Alderley Edge second team and remain just two points above the relegation zone with five games to play.
