Warrington women's first team pulled off a shock victory over league leaders Oxton thanks to a heroic performance from keeper Tracy Jackson. Oxton took the lead after just two minutes and piled on the pressure with a succession of chances but couldn't beat Jackson again. Warrington stepped it up a gear to equalise through a Steph Rawlins short corner and found themselves ahead early in the second half when the keeper inexplicably left Marian Taig's shot to cross the line. Carrie Wright and Gillian Holcroft defended resolutely to preserve the winning score. The men's second team lost a closely contested game with Golborne 3-2. Chris Ashworth scored a magnificent strike high into the net, then turned provider when he set up Rich Hannibal to sweep home. The men's first team lost 3-1 to Keswick seconds despite a goal from Iain Richards deflecting a Ben Vickers strike. The women's second team game with Lymm fourths was abandoned when Jess Palmer suffered a broken arm.
