Warrington men's hockey first team got their season off to a great start as they staged a miraculous comeback against Fylde in the cup competition. At 3-0 down after ten minutes the game looked over, but Warrington rallied and pulled it back to just 3-2 by half time with goals from Ben Vickers. Matt Pettit and Doug Samuels linked up well to set Vickers up for three more goals to put Warrington 5-4 ahead before Roger Parr pulled off a crucial reaction save to secure the win. The women's second team won their first game after promotion to Division 3, recovering from 1-0 down to beat Timperley 2-1. Molly Rudd struck from a short corner to equalise and Jenny Fox slotted home after great teamwork down the right. Tish Edwards made some great saves to keep Warrington in the game. The women's first team went 2-0 down against Macclesfield before clicking into gear with some great passing moves. Sarah Milner and Carrie Wright were strong in defence to prevent further damage before captain Louise Unsworth scored from a short corner to bring Warrington back into the game. Marian Taig and Sally Froggatt created chances with their pace but Warrington couldn't find an equaliser.
