Match reports 07/10/17

Warrington men's first and second teams both got back to winning ways with comfortable wins over Didsbury and Denbigh respectively. Ian Watson got the seconds off the mark with a lovely bit of trickery in the box and a composed finish in only his third game for the club. Warrington continued to build with goals from Gavin Brown, Mark Hooper and Matt Pettit, wracking up seven without reply, while youngster Jake Galvin put in his best performance yet in a Warrington shirt. Adam Garrod, Ben Vickers and Andrew Gould were on the scoresheet for the firsts in their 5-1 win.

The women's seconds had a well fought 1-0 win at home to Oxton seconds. Warrington defended brilliantly and Player of the Match Tish Edwards kept them in the game with a string of amazing saves. With 15 minutes remaining, a great pass from Holly McCurrie in defence found Amy Quayle who drove the ball down the right wing, picking out Molly Rudd to slot home the winning goal. The women's first team battled on with ten players after left back Kirsty Anderson was hit in the head from a free hit. Keeper Tracy Jackson made some spectacular saves while Carrie Wright and Gillian Holcroft defended strongly but it wasn't enough to prevent a 2-0 win for Oxton firsts.
