Match reports 17/03/18

Warrington men's first team put in a fantastic performance against runaway league champions Bolton firsts and nearly managed to pull off a shock result in a thrilling end-to-end match. Bolton went 2-0 up before Ben Vickers pulled one back from a well-struck short corner. Chris Lyon and Matt Petitt linked up well to set up Vickers to bring Warrington back into contention with three more goals, but each time Bolton scored again to maintain their lead, with the game ending 6-4. The women's first team battled hard against second placed Bowdon but couldn't get the win they needed to keep their hopes of finishing outside the relegation zone alive. Natalie Lyons, Olivia Mason and Holly McCurrie defended strongly throughout the game and did well to keep the score down to 3-0 whilst Sally Froggatt and Louise Sullivan tried to get Warrington a goal. The men's seconds drew 1-1 away against Neston eighth team while the women's seconds were scuppered by the snow in both their Saturday and Sunday games.
