Priestley College was the scene 15 goals in of two thrilling games of hockey on Saturday as both Warrington's first and second men's teams were in fine attacking form. The first team came from behind three times to draw 3-3 with University of Liverpool thanks to a hat-trick from Ben Vickers, the last goal of which was a stunning strike not long from the full time whistle. Simon Mason made some crucial tackles to avoid conceding more goals and Noal Phillpotts linked up well with Matt Petitt in midfield to set up the chances. The seconds were unlucky to come out with a 4-5 defeat against Runcorn after a hat-trick of fine finishes from debutant Mike Holmes kept them evenly matched throughout the game. Keeper Richard Bloomfield saved a penalty flick early in the game and Richard Taylor contributed at both ends with solid defending and a goal from a short corner.
